In 2024, the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund celebrates one hundred and twenty years since the birth of Prof. Vasil Gerov, MEng (1904–1985), scientist, public figure, donor to the Fund, and one of the founders of the Technical University of Sofia.
Several panels included in the Fund’s 2014 exhibition, held on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the professor’s birth, were therefore recreated on vinyl and, in November, suitably exhibited in the Prof. Vasil Gerov Square, so that passers-by in Lozenets, the area in which the donor lived, will have the opportunity to appreciate them.
This year, the Fund’s team arranged for a plaque commemorating Professor Gerov to be installed on the façade of the building that houses the Razvitie 1869 Community Centre and the Municipality in the village of Skalsko, the professor’s birthplace.
