You don’t know anything about the novel ‘Dobry’? Well, you will do! Thanks to the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund, which, over a year ago, bought the rights to the favourite children’s book of… generations of Americans. No, it is not a typo! The book by Monica Shannon and Atanas Katchamakoff, which tells the story of a Bulgarian peasant boy at the beginning of the 20th century, has been reprinted 12 times in the USA.
Following Maria Doneva’s translation, ‘Dobry’ has the chance of also becoming a favourite character of the Bulgarian children. The presentation of the book will be held on 1 June, at NDK’s Peroto Literature Club, in the presence of Vice President Iliana Yotova and U.S. Ambassador HE Herro Mustafa.
