For the second time, NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ has announced its national competition in support of the professional development of young Bulgarian artists and scientists. The winner will be awarded the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Prize in support of young talent in contemporary arts and science, launched by the Fund in 2019. The award includes a prize of BGN 5,000 provided by the Fund to support educational costs.
No later than 5:00 p.m. on 14 January 2022, Bulgarian citizens up to 35 years of age with a completed university degree in the arts or science, innovative achievements in their chosen field, and admitted in 2021 for postgraduate qualification to accredited higher educational institutions in Europe, excluding Bulgaria, are eligible to apply for the prize.
The competition will take place in two rounds. In the first, the NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ Management Council will nominate six contenders, to be announced by 31 January 2022. The Fund will launch a donation campaign entitled ‘Support a Talent—Donate!’ for all six nominees.
In the second round, a jury will select the prize-winner, to be publicly announced in the period of 20–30 June 2022. The prize will be awarded in an official ceremony.
