On 1 November 2023, the jury of the short story contest in the name of Rashko Sugarev, organised by NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’, completed its work. This year, the Fund’s Management Board adopted a new statute for the competition, expanding the eligibility criteria of the applicants.
Jury members Theodora Dimova, Hristo Blazhev and Yordan Eftimov selected the winning entries. First prize went to the short story, ‘Dress with Buckles’, written by Dimana Simeonova; second to ‘Ten Cats’, by Kristina Dimitrova; and third prize to ‘What the Wind Says’, by Slaveya Semova.
The prizes will be presented to the winners at a ceremony organised by the Fund in the Prof. Vasil Gerov Hall, at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, 10 November 2023.
The ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund will announce the competition’s next edition, the twenty-seventh, at the beginning of 2024.
