The jury announced six Novel of the Year nominees

The prize in the competition, organised by the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund, will be awarded. according to tradition, on 11 May

The outcome of the eleventh Novel of the Year Competition will be known on 11 May, but until the prize presentation at the Sredets Gallery, the six nominees will be eager to find out who will receive the prestigious award.

 

We shall keep secret the names of the jury, comprised of prominent writers and knights of the word, but we must announce the six authors and their works, published in 2021, and chosen from the 34 novels submitted.

 

The nominated works and authors are:

 

‘Woman in the Wind’, by Alexander Sekulov

‘Mission Turan’, by Alek Popov

‘24 Hours of Labour’, by Vasil Panayotov

‘The Sixth Finger’, by Deliana Maneva

‘The Tail’, by Zahari Karabashliev

‘T for Tashkent’, by Hristo Karastoyanov

 

Deliana Maneva’s is the only debut novel, but she has experience as a screenwriter for ‘Mission London’.

 

We shall have to wait almost a month to find out who will receive the honorary diploma for Novel of the Year with the NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ logo and its corresponding cash award of BGN 11,000.

 

The aim of the competition is to promote and popularise contemporary fiction. Writers and publishers of novels published in the year preceding the award ceremony are eligible.

 

The literary contest was set up in 2011 by the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund.
