Emblematic donations of NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ light up on the Lovers‘ Bridge

The exhibition on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Fund opens on 19 May, at 6 p.m.

Emblematic donations made throughout the 40-year history of the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund are on display accompanied by a short description and large photo posters at the Open-air Gallery on the Lovers’ Bridge of the National Palace of Culture.

The exhibition opens on 19 May 2021, at 6 p.m.: visitors will see 56 selected testimonies of generous gestures by patriotic people. Of course, most of them are not locked in the Fund’s safety vault because over the years the organisation has only been an intermediary between the recipient and the donor.

The first benefactor was the world-famous sculptor Henry Moore, who bequeathed his work in honour of the 1,300th anniversary of Bulgaria. It is one of the masterpieces at the National Gallery of Arts.

The Mayor of Sofia, Ms Yordanka Fandakova, is the patron of the exhibition. Former Minister of Culture Georgi Yordanov, one of the founders of the NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’, is also invited.

The photo posters will remain on the Lovers’ Bridge until 14 June 2021
