From 29 September to 28 October 2022, the Gabenski Gallery, regional centre of the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund in Tryavna, presents the exhibition, ‘Together in Art for a Better Future—Let’s Rebuild Our Children’s World’. It includes 31 digital drawings by award-winning participants in the second edition of the eponymous competition, jointly organised in 2021 by the Fund and UNICEF Bulgaria.
Pupils from six visual arts schools in Kazanlak, Plovdiv, Sliven, Sofia, and Troyan took part in the contest.
The organisers offered the young artists the opportunity to develop compositions on five main themes: health, well-being, education, combating discrimination and climate change, which are also five of UNICEF’s global priorities. The artists were encouraged to interpret freely any of the themes according to their interests and inner feeling, as well as to express the ways art has helped them in times of challenge.
Within the competition, each school preselected the works from which NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ made its awards.
