On September 25, 2018, the exhibition “From tradition to the present” by Miroslava Hristova was opened.
The theme of the exhibition encompasses traditional folk costumes of the Bulgarians with focus on women’s clothing. In 14 photographs, format 50 x 70 cm, colors, symbols, history comes to life.
Miroslava Hristova graduated from the European Design Institute in Milan in 2018 and developed her diploma work on traditional folk costume in Bulgaria. She has make 4 photo shoots, in which she combines our folklore Costumes with elements of modern fashion, seeking a new reading of harmony between rhythm, symmetry and contrast – the main elements in Bulgarian embroidery.
“The structure of my study follows the story, meaning and contemporary view of embroidery, because it has the potential to be applied not only in fashion, but also in interior design”, shares the author.
The exhibition can be viewed until October 17, 2018.
