The ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund has published the book, ‘40 Years of NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ Donorship Mission’, in honour of its 40th anniversary. In a video created exclusively for the Fund’s website, the youngest member of the team, art historian Ivan Stefanov presents the most significant (in his opinion) donations included in the publication. The generous gestures made over the past four decades are over 90,000 in number.
It is deliberate that this volume, listing the most remarkable donations of global and Bulgarian artists, scientists, organisations, and countries, bears the title ‘40 Years of NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ Donorship Mission’, because sponsorship is woven into the Fund’s essence and memory, as it is in its future.
The video produced by Tsvetan Ignatovski highlights the NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ role as a guarantor for the observance of the will of the donor, as most of the works of art, monetary gifts, books, and archives have been entrusted to the organisation so as to reach those to whom they are provided in the most transparent and unimpeachable way.
