On 21 June 2023, the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund presented the best pupils of the Tsanko Lavrenov School of Arts in Plovdiv with awards in the name of artist Anastas Staykov.
For the 33rd time, and at the school management’s suggestion, the recipients of the prestigious award were selected from six specialisms: Painting, Graphic Art, Sculpture, Advertising Graphics, Spatial Design, and Mural Painting.
In a tradition that goes back to 1988, the prize is awarded at the Tsanko Lavrenov High School at the end of each school year. The talented graduates receive a diploma from the Fund and a monetary award from the daughter and heiress of Anastas Staykov. Dr Maria Staykova is a sponsor of the Fund’s donation account.
This year, the winning pupils in the individual specialisms are: Painting—Kremena Lyuboslavova Blagoeva; Graphics—Elena Plamenova Zheleva; Sculpture—Alexandra Petrova Kalaidzhieva; Advertising Graphics—Manuel Trayanov Draganov; Spatial Design—Alexandra Kostadinova Kovatlieva, and Mural Painting—Hristiana Hristova Popova.
