The violins of NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ are again in the hands of young musicians, students at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music

On 21 February 2022, the violins named ‘Prof. M. Balkanski’ and ‘Sofia’ of NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’, were loaned to Georgi Raychev and Elitsa Georgieva, students at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music. The chamber ceremony took place in the Fund’s central building in Prof. Vasil Gerov Sq. It was attended by Ms Slava Ivanova, Executive Director of NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’, and Dr Galina Koycheva, a lecturer at the academy.

The ‘Sofia’ violin is a Stradivarius model, crafted in 1984 by I. Malinovski, while the world-famous violinist Vasko Vassilev played the musical instrument, named after Prof. M. Balkanski, during his student years at the Conservatoire.

NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ once again provides talented young people with the opportunity to study and perform in concerts in Bulgaria and abroad on the musical instruments loaned to them.
