On 21 October 2025, Svetlina 1922 Community Centre received a donation by NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’.
Skalsko is the birthplace of Prof. Vasil Gerov, one of the Fund’s major donors. On the day the Fund presented the donation, a memorial plaque to Vasil Gerov was unveiled to mark the 121st anniversary of his birth.
The donation comprised 48 books of various genres relating to Bulgarian and world history, culture, literature and art, written by eminent Bulgarian scientists. The works were published by St Kliment Ohridski University Press, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, New Bulgarian University, ‘Earth and Man’ National Museum, Union of Artists in Bulgaria, Bulgarian Historical Heritage Foundation, and the Balkani, Avangard Prima and Slantse publishing houses.
The donated books also included publications by NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’.
