On 16 March 2026, the ‘13 of Centuries Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund made a second donation to the Neofit Rilski South-West University in Blagoevgrad. It comprised 20 digital drawings from the Fund’s ‘The Spirit of Letters and Signs’ competition. Initiated in 2013 by NEF ‘13 of Centuries Bulgaria’, it was organised jointly with the Tryavna National Secondary School of Applied Arts. The occasion for the initiative was the 1,150th anniversary of the Moravian mission of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius.
Some thirty secondary school pupils participated in the competition. With the support of the Fund, their works were included in a travelling exhibition, held in galleries in Bulgaria and abroad. Prominent in the compositions of their drawings were elements of the Glagolitic script—the first Bulgarian alphabet—and the Cyrillic script.
In 2014, the exhibition opened at the Gabenski Gallery in Tryavna, and then presented by the Fund at the 14th Perperikon International Arts Festival, the Municipality of Blagoevgrad, and at the Sofia Gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London.
