The Management Council of the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund has selected the jury members for the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ 2025 National Literary Prize for Bulgarian Novel of the Year. The selection was made from among proposals submitted by leading cultural organisations, universities, creative unions, writers, and other prominent figures in the field of literature, as well as members of the Management Council itself.
According to the Prize Statute, the Fund announces the composition of the jury to the media following its selection by the Management Council.
The jury for the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ 2025 National Literary Prize for Bulgarian Novel of the Year competition is composed of: Acad. Vladimir Zarev; Prof. Valeri Stefanov, DPhil; Zdravka Evtimova; Assoc. Prof. Ani Burova, DPhil; and Assoc. Prof. Maurice Fadel, DSc.
The Bulgarian Novel of the Year Prize is determined by the jury on a competitive basis after a two-round procedure. In the first round, the jury nominates six novels from all the entries and, in its second session, the winner of the 2025 prize is chosen from the originally nominated novels.
The jury’s mandate expires on completion of the competition, with each member having signed a declaration of non-affiliation to the submitted applications.
The prize will be awarded at an official ceremony on Monday, 19 May, at 6:00 p.m., at the Sofia City Art Gallery.
