On 13 December 2019 in the Prof. Vasil Gerov Hall of the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund, the Director of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, Dimitar Vladimirov, and the Executive Director of the Fund, Slava Ivanova, signed an Agreement of Cooperation.
The two organisations will work jointly to prepare and implement significant cultural, social, and educational initiatives with participants from the Bulgarian diaspora. They will partner in organising and conducting various events on and campaigns for the preservation of the Bulgarian ethnocultural space in Bulgaria and beyond its borders, and for the unity of all Bulgarians around the world.
In 2020, NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ will announce a session for financial support for projects entitled ‘Young Bulgarians Abroad with a Focus on Bulgarian Folklore’. The Fund and the Agency will cooperate in the implementation of this initiative—in its promotion, and throughout its second stage, when the participants in the best projects will visit Bulgaria. The aim is to preserve and promote national awareness among the young generations of Bulgarians abroad through acquaintance with native folklore, through the preservation and development of Bulgarian traditions and memory.
