On 4 April 2025, the Gabenski Gallery in Tryavna, the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund regional centre, hosted a meeting with its donor, artist Zlatko Paunov, Prof. Milena Bratoeva, DPhil; Dr Mona Kaushik, Dr Kanchan Sharma, lecturers in the Indology Speciality of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at St Kliment Ohridski Sofia University, and representatives of the Devam Foundation.
Through NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’, Zlatko Paunov made donations to the Tryavna community on several occasions, and in 1995, a significant bestowal on Tryavna’s Museum of Asian and African Art, the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula. Paunov’s mother came from the area and the artist had always been impressed by the town’s Revivalist spirit and culture.
The guests at the Gabenski Gallery thanked NEF ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ for their hospitality and stated that they would be happy to work for the implementation of future cultural and educational initiatives.
