The creative contest was organised for the second time by the ‘13 Centuries of Bulgaria’ National Endowment Fund, which celebrated its 40th, and UNICEF its 75th, anniversary—both organisations involved in causes that support children, families, and the development of opportunities for all. The competition targets pupils aged from 14 to 19 from visual arts schools administered by the Ministry of Culture. The idea was for young talents to express in their works how they imagined the dream childhood that their classmates, friends and all children and young people with disabilities would enjoy, as well as related topics such as inclusion, accessibility, and discrimination. From 29 September, at the Gabenski Gallery, the regional centre of the NEF ’13 Centuries of Bulgaria’, everyone will have an opportunity to see the exhibition of the award-winning works. The exposition is housed in the courtyard of the National Revivalist architectural emsemble of Kalinchev’s House, in the central old street in Tryavna. It is a hub for exhibitions, creative meetings, seminars, book presentations, and other cultural events. It bears the name ‘Gabenski’, as members of this family donate paintings to the Tryavna public through NEF ’13 Centuries of Bulgaria’.
